Remember “If you don’t use it, you will lose it”…

March 16, 2017

I was recently encouraged and reminded that when you meet certain challenges in life, that make you fall flat on your face, that you only have one option, and that is to get up and dust yourself down and just get on with it again, by any means necessary.

Because many of us will appreciate the quote “If you don’t use it, you will lose it”.

I can imagine that this quote, has been used in so many different situations as a gentle reminder over the years because it is so easy to lose some things you were once a master of, or good at in life, or you use to enjoy doing.

Recently I saw a stroke victim, not allowing his situation to be an obstacle, to where he wanted to be in life, and you can bet that the quote above was one of his motivational stimulation on his road to a recovery, slow it may be but nevertheless, it is a positive progress.

My appreciation of what I saw was heightened when I realised that a person's natural ability to rise like an eagle from the ashes of many of life challenging situation's, can be motivated by the person,s positive mental mindset, before he became ill or whatever life's changing storm that was to have a massive impact on his or her life.

If a person had a very positive mental mindset on life and the way they treat or deal with life's many challenges, then the chances of that person recovering would be much better.

Because such a person really appreciates the quote “If you don’t use it, you will lose it”.

They say it is like riding a bike, once you start to ride a bike again, the ability to ride a bike just comes back to us again.

Sometimes in life, the  thing that brings us down can be a little therapeutic, as hurtful as it may be at the time, some people know what it is like to lose all their wealth and had to file for bankruptcy, some also lost their health, their loved one's in death or via a divorce, it really hurt, but humbling at the same time if there are lessons to be learnt.

Even as we learn from scripture's that even the Apostle Paul had to Cope With “a Thorn in the Flesh”

For that to happen we must be motivated to accept certain quotes in our life like a medicine as part of our recovery process, from wherever we may find ourselves, as part of our journey, and rehabilitation, otherwise  “If you don’t use it, you will lose it”.

Sometimes it is not always about being successful financially, but learning how to cope again.
